The Bucs got a little too greedy and missed in the NFL Draft 2012 when they made the move from #5 to #7. Dallas leapfrogged the Bucs and took LSU CB Morris Claiborne at #6 in the first round.Tampa management played it off like Barron was the guy they wanted the whole time. The fact that they let a team with a huge hole at safety get ahead of them does support their case. With the draft of 2012 not as solid as it should have been, they will likely be picking early again.
Rhodes injured his knee against Notre Dame in their bowl game at the end of the 2011 season. It was not severe, but for a cover corner it will be crutial if there is any speed drop off. So if he looks strong in 2012, I believe he will be one of the first corners to come off the draft board.
Our predictions for the Bucs 2013 draft picks are listed below. Based on team needs and season statistics relative to the rest of the NFL, avoiding late game collapses will have them playoff bound in the 2013-2014 NFL season. Interior D line and hard hitting safeties with a nose for the ball would be huge. Draft projections will change throughout the season based on top draft eligible NCAA players performances in the 2012 college football season, 2013 NFL combine performances and Bucs injuries during the 2012-2013 season.
How We Predict 2013 Draft Order2013-2014 NFL season schedule release date
Draft order is created by the previous year's standing in order of worst performer to best. Trades and contracts sometimes see picks interchanged among teams. While we can't say for sure where we will see key injuries, breakout seasons and trades, we have developed a tremedously successful technique for nailing the mock draft using Vegas odds, statistical trends, player injuries and team needs.
